Fluoridation started as a lie – deliberate, contrived and dishonest. There never was any scientific proof of the effectiveness of fluoride in preventing or reducing cavities. It was all lies and spin by industrial titans.

Another good read, Fluoride – The Aging Factor by Dr. John Yiamouyiannis describes the vilification of scientists like Dr. Dean Burk and the complicity of the courts and government with the promoters of fluoridation.
These lies morphed into the myth that fluoride is “a cost effective measure to prevent cavities, especially for the poor.” It’s become a religion that can’t be questioned.

There are even educated people who believe in this myth. How is this possible?
To begin with most people have not looked into the subject. They just believe trusted authority figures – people who have MD and DDS degrees – who assure them that it is “safe and effective”…
Critics of fluoridation just sound all wrong because they are saying something dramatically different from what you have heard all your life. This is why the Big Lie technique can be so effective. Ironically, the bigger the lie, the easier it is to maintain it and for longer periods of time.

In British Columbia , a shocking 11% of the entire population drinks fluoridated water, as opposed to 40-70% in other Canadian regions. In addition, the lowest rates of dental caries within the province are found in areas that do not have their water supplies fluoridated.
Facts:
1. Fluoride levels are not easily measured once put into municipal water supplies.

Turmeric shown to protect brain against fluoride poisoning
Publishing their findings in a recent issue of Pharmacognosy Magazine, a http://www.fluoridefreede... research team out of India observed that regular consumption of turmeric, a spice commonly used in Indian and Asian cuisine, helps to protect the mammalian brain against fluoride poisoning. Having previously uncovered the pathways through which fluoride induces harmful neurodegenerative changes in the brain, the team from Mohanlal Sukhadia University found that turmeric both neutralizes existing fluoride and protects against additional fluoride.

Three more U.S. communities have ended fluoridation, joining the list of over 135 that have ended the practice since 2010:
- Boyne City, Michigan – City Commissioners voted 3-2 to end more than 40 years of fluoridation for the town’s approximately 4,000 residents. Commissioner Gene Towne summed up the council’s decision, saying: “It comes down to choice. I don’t see how you can control the dosage (of fluoride that people ingest) if it’s in everything. If there’s a chance that it could cause any health problems … this should all come down to your choice.”
- Buffalo and Union , Missouri – On Monday, Alderman voted to end a decade of fluoridation, saying the additive damaged equipment, city trucks, and was not economical. Also this week, councilors in Union, Missouri voted 7-1 to end fluoridation after the city's public service committee recommended the city not repair fluoride injection equipment destroyed by the corrosive additive. According to the City Engineer, “It’s an acid and it eats the pipes. Employees are handling it and they don’t want to be.”

While hugely outspent by government agencies, the dental lobby and industrial interests, local groups opposing this practice are securing important victories largely because the science and the ethics are on our side (see the supporting document). We need to share these local victories and give moral and practical support to those still struggling. Working together we have a better chance to defeat this practice worldwide.
