Please note, Pavlova was not an emaciated anorexic, but a healthy woman. That she died at 51 is not a tragedy -- a dancer devoted to her/his art practices for many hours a day. The body wears out quickly under that stress. Most ballerinas must retire by age 30. The feet go first.
