I spotted a golden retriever a couple years back....5-6 days after July 4th....I knew she was lost....Poor baby...Brought her home...called the vet in Florida from the rabies tag..... (I am in NC)..They would give me no info...but I asked them to call the owner for me and gave them MY number....A woman called that night...They were in NC at her Mom's for the 4th of July, and the dog ran away being terrified of the fireworks.......They had search parties, announcements on the local radio....an ad in the weekly paper....nothing!!!...so one stayed behind...(the husband) and the wife had to go back to work....so she was the one I spoke to in FLorida.....SHe cried.....Her husband came that night to get the dog.(The dog had travelled 12 miles.).My two dogs seemed sad that she had to go home.....but everyone was happy....At Christmas I got a Christmas card with a picture of the 3 of them......It was more than enough to know they were together........ reunited.... Happy 4th everyone.!
