Oh yeah! In 1957 Baltimore dedicated their Baltimore Harbor Tunnel which put into place a 'temporary' toll that would be lifted upon paying for itself.

Hmmmm.....this is fifty-nine years later and we're still paying!!

Our city just decided to extend a tax that I fought telling everyone back then - like ten years ago - IT WILL NEVER GO AWAY - I was right - they were wrong.. there will always be more needs for taxes - and government programs!
