I have been working overtime for two weeks and today when my boss called me into the office, I thought, oh no, he is going to ask me to work overtime again next week. But then he had a really serious tone when I sat down and I was scared he was going to lay me off or fire me. I have been working overtime because our company already laid off a few people. They haven't said so but I think they are cutting down due to Obamacare. My heart dropped at the thought of it! He started reviewing my work history and I was just sure this was going to be my last day. Then finally he told me that there is a management position opening up next month and if I am interested in it the job is mine!
I won't be earning a whole lot more money at first but we have a plan where in six months my salary will go up by about 25%. And in another six months there is an evaluation where it could go up a lot.
I'm so happy! Now I can stop baby sitting on the weekends! Double YAY!!!!!
