Regrets for Trump In Alabama Senate race, I Hope So.
I hope Trump does have regrets about backing Luther Strange. I am furious with him for interfering in a race where he clearly knew nothing about the candidates. Yeh, I know, I'm sure Luther and Donald are BFFs, who never met. Trump probably was the best man at Luther's wedding. Or was that Bill Clintons? This race had nothing to do with Trump, he was only a side show, a potentially disastrous sideshow, but a side show, nonetheless.
This race was about Luther Strange, a lobbyist who maneuvered his way into a Senate seat, and was going to serve the interest of Mitch McConnell in exchange for a cushy and profitable Senate job.
This race was about Judge Roy Moore, who was well known and respected for faithfully following the Constitution, even if it meant he would lose his job. Judge Moore is a man with no personal agenda, who carries no animosity for anyone, an actual honest person.
For anyone who thinks the people of Alabama are a bunch of unsophisticated hicks who would follow Trump off a cliff; you are wrong. They were not swayed by Trump, but they actually turned Trump to their side, in a way so forceful, yet so subtle most people missed it.
President Trump is a wrecking ball, who is as dangerous to friends as he is to foes. The people of Alabama showed us how to actually tame that wrecking ball or at least, how to ignore it.
