My wife and I spent Memorial Day visiting cemeteries and placing flags on the graves of our family and friends who served in the military. We traveled over 200 miles from place to place before we arrived back home at the end of the day. From the first stop to the last, a nagging feeling grew between us that if those we were visiting knew what we are up against in this country today that they would be shocked and saddened. We talked about it in the car between locations and agreed that if they could speak to us they would ask, "Why?" as in why have we allowed those who hate the freedom they fought for to steal it away from us.

At one point we both began to feel a sense of guilt for the state of affairs this country finds itself in because we had no good answer to the imaginary question of "Why?"

When one finds themselves standing over the grave of a man who fought to the point of death for freedom on foreign soil, there is no reasonable answer that doesn't sound like more than a pitiful excuse for laziness and apathy. How can we explain that what their lives were risked for is something that we can't be bothered with defending in our own back yards?

We talked more about the revelations of the day over dinner last night. We agreed that to pay tribute to these soldiers with flowers and flags meant nothing compared to the tribute we should pay every day of our lives by standing up for what it is they fought for, with that being freedom. By coming face to face with their commitment and in some cases the giving of their lives in sacrifice, we could not avoid the shame that this generation bears for allowing our national treasure to fall to the bankers, the communists and the eugenicists. We found our ancestors crying out to us to wake up and stand up against this oppression that has fallen upon us and today we woke up with a new found commitment to do just that.

I am but one man, and like the soldiers we visited, I alone am unable to win a war. This will take all of us becoming well trained in understanding the nature of the beast and the battle, and well armed with knowledge. Unlike in the military, we have no apparent leader and no chain of command. In earthly terms, this is our weakness because those we are up against have plotted and planned through their ranks for generations. We are forced to become lone wolfs who recognize our pack and who will have loyalty to each other in times of need and we must teach each other all that we know that is of use to the group as a whole. The survival and battle of each one of us must be the duty of the others to support without signal and without being told to do so or in what manner.

On the side of independence from human leadership we have the leader within to listen to who takes direction from the prime leader of all that we do. That leader is God Almighty, and he calls us to stand up for the rights we were given the minute he created us, the same natural rights that the constitution was established to protect. While their side will have natural power struggles and disagreements within their ranks we will be, we must be, steadfastly willing servants of our one unchanging true God who has known from the beginning that in our magnificently beautiful world that evil exists in the hearts and minds of many of our fellow mankind. We must not let down those who have sacrificed for the continuance of our natural rights and neither must we let down the one who gave them to us.

They may have their manifestos, Cloward-Piven, and Saul Alinsky but we have the creator of the universe to follow and in that I can and I will find my strength to pick up my weapon and carry on. In my case, my pen is mightier than my sword.

Psalm 18:32-34 The God who equipped me with strength and made my way blameless. He made my feet like the feet of a deer  and set me secure on the heights. He trains my hands for war, so that my arms can bend a bow of bronze.

Psalm 119:23  Even though princes sit plotting against me, your servant will meditate on your statutes.

John 16:33 I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.

If I had fought under the American flag for our freedoms, I sure would be hitting all sides of the coffin right about now. All that pain and suffering for THIS? So that obama could desecrate the White House? We owe all vets an apology.

We also owe our children and our children's children an apology for not guarding the inheritance of freedom on our watch. I previously thought of myself as an activist. Now I see that I was asleep on duty too much of the time. But, by God, I'm awake now.

Absolutely. I know that one day our descendents will be asking exactly WHAT were we doing between WWII and today besides promoting our own self interests. I'm glad that I'm old enough to NOT be here to have to answer their questions. It's shameful how we have disregarded our freedom and our Const...

I am attempting to make sure my heirs understand what I did and am doing so that they won't look back on me and think I was a screw up.

I had similar thoughts while visiting my father's grave this past weekend. I was glad that he didn't have to see what we have become.

"Those who stand for nothing will fall for anything." I just remembered that saying and when you think about it, it sure fits the American people.
