A nonprofit group is offering a $1 million bounty for anyone with information that leads to the conviction of top officials in the IRS targeting scandal.

Catherine Engelbrecht, founder of True the Vote, made the announcement Wednesday on Fox News Channel's "The Kelly File." Her group is joining with the Voters Trust to crowd-fund the effort.

"If they have information that will reveal what is really happening inside of the halls of the IRS, this is a way to incentivize that truth to come forward," Engelbrecht said. "This a way to empower the American people to hold government accountable."

True the Vote was one of many conservative groups targeted by the IRS after it sought tax-exempt status.

Gregg Phillips, managing director of the Voters Trust, told The Blaze that "this is the people's bounty to seek the truth."

To collect the bounty, a person will have to provide "relevant evidence, including emails, eyewitness accounts, or testimony of political targeting of Americans by the IRS or the Obama administration that has not previously been reported," says a press release from the group that The Blaze cited.
