My pickles were usually always about giving the person the benefit of the doubt. Never give someone the benefit of the doubt unless you know them very well.

My rule used to be, you get my trust until you ruin it. Now it's you get my trust when you earn it. It seems to take longer to earn it as every year goes by and I see how few deserve it in the long run.

Oh, if not sure, I will give them the benefit of the doubt, but I'm always listening for that other shoe to drop! Even the people you think you know well will take advantage of you if it's to their advantage. I learned that one the really hard way...

Whenever I landed in a pickle, it was because I did not listen to wise counsel. Now it happens whenever I ignore that inner voice of wisdom, won the hard way. I can relate to Mona's experience also.

I broke up with my bf two days before our mutual best friend's wedding. I had to go and didn't have a date. At the last minute I ran into someone I just met and invited them to go. When we got there it turned out my date was my ex's cousin! lol That didn't go very well.
