I never had one of these! I'm sorry but I thought they were hideous. lol.. I don't do plastic or aluminum. Look at the price! Wow - What a bargain by today's standards.

Don't like them either. My neighbors' had one in the 1960s. Came with a color wheel. The husband worked for NASA so I thought it must be an outer space thing. lol

We had one--mom was a modern gal. The color wheel did a good job of making it not so cold. It really was pretty when the light hit it, but I'd rather be sweeping up pine needles all year!

It always felt so cold to me, I didn't feel the heart of it. lol Several of my friends had them in the day too. I didn't mind seeing them in their houses. lol

I found two of these in my great aunt's attic. I put them up that year. They were definitely conversation pieces. lol I didn't have the color wheel so I put a lazer light on it and my boyfriend hooked it up to music so that it was coordinated. It was pretty cool actually.
