Just relaying the information because I found it highly unusual and slightly inappropriate.  But then I haven't suffered through FGM.


 


May 6 and May 12 of this year to be the first-ever International Clitoris Awareness Week. 



LAS VEGAS (CBS Las Vegas) - A group formed to protest and combat female genital mutilation declared the time between May 6 and May 12 of this year to be the first-ever International Clitoris Awareness Week.


The organization, Clitoraid, released a statement Friday about the awareness campaign.

How terrible. I try to tell the young women in my life that they are just a blink away from this and they don't believe me. I pray this practice will someday be a far distant horrible memory.
