It is a long time tradition that most of us set resolutions for the goals and dreams that we want to achieve in the coming year. I have spent a lot of time thinking about what people put on these lists and why some have more success than others in their accomplishing the targets they set.

One thing that stands out to me is that often times people list distinct items that don't fall within the scope of the rest of their character. For example if someone lists "Stop Smoking" when they practice multiple types of self destructive habitual behaviors they usually can't accomplish that specific goal when they aren't addressing it in the context of who they are that caused them to have that bad habit in the first place. Or if someone lists "Run my own business" when they haven't held a job for more than a few months at a time for several years then likely that dream won't come true either because they have not addressed their ability to show determination or tolerance which would affect their ability to accomplish their goal.

So what I am suggesting this year is that rather than add specific goals to your new year's resolution list to instead write out your vision of the perfect you. To do this you could make the following or similar subcategories and fill them in. What would the perfect you do? How would the perfect you act? Where would the perfect you go? Who would the perfect you spend time with? When would the perfect you make steps towards your more specific goals? Of course none of us can achieve 100% perfection and there is no need to pressure ourselves to accomplish the unattainable to the point of stressing out over it. But if we don't even have a vision of who we would be if we were able to be perfect then we will never even come close. Until we address our entire self the specific details of what we want to accomplish will likely remain out of reach. In this vision that you spell out you will also naturally list the items that you would have normally put in your resolutions but this time you are addressing your whole person and the life that you live to help reach those goals and achieve your dreams

So try something different this year! Write out the most detailed vision of your perfect self that you can conceive and include what your daily schedule might look like. You may want to make a list of the things that need to change or the steps that you need to take but whether you do these last two things or not, the main thing is to start practicing your vision. Begin living your dream immediately to what ever degree that you can and finding ways to implement the rest of it asap. Every morning read over your list and every night fall asleep visualizing yourself as the perfect you. In your visualizations see yourself happy and accomplishing your goals. See the results of your efforts paying off. See doors being opened and the universe rewarding you for your desire and for following actions to become the person that you were put on earth to be!

I wish you the best in the coming year and the luck that comes from taking the right actions. I also hope for your success in all that you do because you put in the entire effort that is needed to accomplish it. And that my friend is like throwing a rock in the pond where the ripple effect of what happens next will be unstoppable.

Those of us who aren't just trying to hold on to what we have will do well to follow your advice. And I guess even those of us who are struggling. I just have to say that it is very hard to stay positive when I know that America is under attack by the very essence of all that is Anti-American. Maybe...
