Today, on the fourteenth day of adding 63 new things to my life to make it better, I added visiting my mom twice a month. She lives an hour's drive away and due to our schedules, and various other lifestyle challenges, sometimes weeks go by between visits. Every visit is so precious, I just have to do better!

A couple of hours round trip doesn't seem too long to spend to get to enjoy visiting with my mother. It isn't so much that the trip is the reason I haven't been visiting her at least twice a month as it is our schedules and sleeping habits are often conflicting. Throw in the rainy days, health issues and other life challenges we both face and next thing I know weeks have gone by.
At our ages, this is not acceptable! Since mornings are out of the question for either of us to meet, I have to stay over at her house because of my not wanting to make the return trip at night which would be necessary for anything except for an extremely short visit.
So be it!
It will require more planning than I am accustomed to especially in the busy time ahead but she's worth the effort!
