Today, on the twelfth day of adding 63 new things to my life to make it better, I added limiting the amount of time I play computer games to an hour a day. I use games to rest my mind between sessions of performing intense tasks on the computer. I was shocked to find that added up to at or over two hours a day!

It was only a few weeks ago that I decided to record the amount of time I was spending playing video games on my computer. I was really shocked to find out those "quick" little games were eating up to almost two hours a day of my time.
Because I space them out to maybe once an hour I didn't think they amounted to that much time-wise. They are enjoyable yes, but what they serve for me is to give me a mental break. I have tinnitus and it is very difficult to just walk away for a few minutes and relax my mind.
The ringing in my ears is very loud and I need something stimulating to take my focus off of the noise so the rest of my mind can clear out. I am not sure what I will replace games with yet for the times I need to take a break, but I will try to pick something more productive.
I have so much to do right now, I really can't afford to waste so much time in this way.
Links to some of my current favorite games:
Ninja Kiwi Monkey Village - This is a tower defense village with a variety of play options where towers and special abilities are earned for ongoing continuous growth and challenges. https://ninjakiwi.com/Gam...
Ninja Kiwi TD5 - The basic tower defense game which Monkey Village is based on but where once towers are earned with experience players keep them for all tracks. They have the cutest graphics I've seen on a TD game. https://ninjakiwi.com/Gam...
AARP Trizzle - This game goes several steps beyond a typical matching with the use of Russian nesting dolls to build larger and larger dolls making for a thoughtful game that is quick but at the same time it can be quite challenging. http://games.aarp.org/gam...
MSN Just Words - This is for all intents and purposes the same as Scrabble, where one can play against an easy, medium or hard computer challenger. http://zone.msn.com/gamep...
