Day 9 - Cleaning Schedule - 63 Things for my 63rd Birthday

Today, on the ninth day of adding 63 new things to my life to make it better, I added making a cleaning schedule. Preparing to put my house on the market requires me to clean for picture making and then do deep cleaning odor removal. Throw the yard work into the mix and "YIKES!" no wonder I am overwhelmed.

I am estimating at best this project will take two weeks. Then there is the ongoing daily upkeep in order to be ready to show the house at any moment which will not end until it is sold. 

I have purchased baking soda, fabric odor remover and other cleaning products in mass quantities. The biggest challenge will be to successfully remove odors. I have a cat and previously had dogs over the years but my biggest concern is to remove any trace of cigarette smoke. 

I spent several hours researching the best methods to remove odors from all of the surface types in the house and decided to invest in an ozone machine. I didn't find anything but positive reports on the use of a good ozone machine especially for smoke odor removal. 

With the cat in the house, I will have to plan carefully when to use the machine and for how to keep her out of the area for at least 45 minutes after the machine runs. 

Truly, I must admit, I do NOT look forward to doing all of this labor intensive work. But - I HAVE to do it. No one is going to come over and do it for me.

There is so much to accomplish in so little time that making a list is absolutely necessary to keep me on track. I have to carry out the rest of my responsibilities around this project so it is likely going to be a real test of my stamina, will power and patience to get through these next couple of weeks.
