Today, on day 2 of implementing 63 new things in my life, I add work outdoors for an hour every day. I decided to spend today's hour under the house cleaning, sorting and planning for the fate of the many items that have been shoved away under there over the years

Before I take on this task, I find myself thinking about not only these dusty items waiting to be dealt with, but also the other things in my life which have been stored away out of site for no longer being useful to me.

I am puzzled by what happened that caused things once of great importance, to become nothing but an occasional memory in my life. Have I allowed value to only become a choice or a convenience rather than embracing it for proverbially what it is worth?

There must be a reason I hang onto things like the ones under my porch but what about people, relationships, education, information, and God given talents? Why do they so often end up in the storage space of my memory instead of in the hours of my days?

I am trying to remember, Cleanliness is next to Godliness and good for the soul. Maybe the reason why that is so, is because one must mentally process all that the act entails and brings to mind. Surely there is also good in filtering out what is not important in the moment one finds oneself in. But when a thing has enduring value, it is hard to let go, yet to allow it to remain unused and unappreciated is not an option that shows caring.

Hmmm, so one by one while I'm sorting and pondering, I must determine does value of each thing lie in the moment, in the memory or in the "maybe some day" that I might need it again. Perhaps I will find many things for which the value lies in what its next life will be, if it can be made useful again to someone else.

These are the same thoughts I have about especially God given talents. I need to either bring them back into my life and use them again, or find others I can share them with so they may once again have meaning.

This reminds me I have a storage room I haven't been in for at least six months! I need to get rid of that stuff but some of it is family things I don't want to part with. I don't have room for these things in my house. It's crazy! I pay almost two hundred dollars a month to keep things I don't see ...

I'm afraid I am about to have lots of things in a storage room - I don't know what to sell and what to keep

beachbum is online.
Good luck! Until it gets cooler here, I'm not spending any more time outside than I have to.

It is finally cooling off in the afternoons at least. Not too bad - and it's only an hour a day lol
