Five American car brands that deserve a second chance.

http://www.nydailynews.co...

The American auto industry is alive and well in 2015, with buyers snatching up more cars than ever and the “Big Three” posting record numbers after the turmoil of 2008 onwards. Ford, General Motors, and the new Fiat-Chrysler are looking stronger than ever, with increases in quality, efficiency, and innovation coming with every new model.
But while there’s a lot to feel good about in the current state of the auto industry, we couldn’t help but notice some gaping holes in product offerings that could stand to be filled. And what better way to fill them than with defunct American brands that deserve a second chance? In the spirit of America's 239th birthday, here are 5 dead American car brands that we think could flourish in 2015.

Pontiac
International Harvester
Packard
AMC
Duesenberg

I add Oldsmobile

I was a Pontiac person during the 50's,60 and 70's. I must say, they were my best vehicles and I have the fondest memories!

And they were real cars! I know we were a bit over the top in our excesses, but I always felt safe in my armored cars!

I learned to drive on a '49 Dodge stick with fluid drive, lol! A family of four could live in the back seat comfortably..."

A friend has a '49 Packard that looks almost like it. That Packard runs sweet and it's almost as old as I am. I should be in better shape...
