Sept 30 2015,

The GOOD news is, according to Gallup, America's trust in mass media is at a historical low.

The poll indicates that:

  • Four in 10 Americans trust the mass media

  • 2015 ties 2014 and 2012 for the lowest trust level in Gallup's trend

  • Younger Americans less likely than older to trust the media (Younger Americans defined by Gallup as those under fifty)

A bar chart also shows a steady decline in trust since 1997.

This American rarely trusts polls either, but if true the fact that younger Americans are less likely to trust than older Americans gives me more hope for the future than I've dared to believe in for quite some time.

According to Gallup, "This decline follows the same trajectory as Americans' confidence in many institutions and their declining trust in the federal government's ability to handle domestic and international problems over the same time period." Could it be true? Are Americans really waking up!?

The bad news is, if four in ten Americans trust the mass media, then forty percent of us are idiots. Is it a surprise that reportedly Democrats are more trusting of mass media than Republicans? I think NOT. The other bad news is that the reason for distrust is well earned by controlled journalists, propagandists, and agenda pushing media outlets owned by the same hand full of people all over the world.

No wonder the power mongering elite hate networking and bloggers. The thoughtful, inquisitive, intelligent people of the world have an outlet via the internet and a means to reach others with truth. In the end I still believe it will be truth that sets us free!

Keep up the good work my fellow truth loving Networkers and Bloggers Everywhere!

I trust the surface reports on local news only. National news is about as reliable as my last car.

I used to devour the national news on TV. Now, I don't watch any TV news at all. NONE. For a million dollars I can't name even one newscaster that is presently delivering the news.

I listen to the radio through the day and they come on every half hour and give the headlines. Usually they cover the same stories over and over. For real news I check out websites and groups I'm in.

It is so sad that the news MOST people get is those Those little blurbs every half hour, and what do they tell us anyway? Almost Nothing if not dis-information.. :-/
