I don't think things are going to go in favor of the Kentucky Clerk who refused to issue marriage licenses. Here's why:

According to the law of the land she was in contempt of court and is paying the penalty of being so. There were other choices that she could have made including quitting her job or asking to be transferred. I don't particularly see her being incarcerated as an attack on Christianity although it may be the result of what started as an attack on Christianity. Society in general may become more guilty of it every day, but when boiling it down to her actions in this episode of rebellion, even with the judge's past record, to me it seems like she knew the consequences of living her faith while attempting to keep her job and has decided to accept them.

A government worker, or an employee of any business, is there to perform the duties of which they were hired for. If the duties change and a worker refuses to carry them out for any reason, and we let this stand, then what is the future of employers' rights? She refused to perform her duties, and I don't think the reasons why she refused are relative to the consequences even if I support her right to hold and live her religious beliefs.

If we want to address the attack on Christianity that seems to be going on not only in this country but around the world, then we need to start somewhere else, not with this incident. Where should we start? I'm not sure, but for one we can make certain of the genuine Christian beliefs of those we elect to hold offices before we vote for them. I'm not talking about lip service when anyone can say they are a Christian, but rather we need to look at the way candidates have lived their lives. Have they served Christ or the world? This should be the first question we ask before we decide who to support.

The article below states about the judge: "The federal judge who held Rowan County Clerk Kim Davis in contempt and ordered her to jail for refusing to sign marriage licenses has on two occasions denied Christian students in Kentucky public schools their First Amendment rights by ordering them to undergo re-education training promoting the homosexual lifestyle against their religious objections."

While I find the actions of the judge to be deplorable it is because the laws he is bound to rule by are deplorable. When are we going to learn, our country is being taken over by legal activists working fervently to change the laws and step up to meet them at every challenge? If we were thinking ahead, like they obviously are, we would beat them to the court rooms to establish our own agenda of protecting freedom of religion.

Five years ago if this woman HAD issued a marriage license to a homosexual couple she would have been jailed. Today, she won't issue a marriage license and she's jailed.

I don't understand how the majority of the population believed homosexuality to be deviant. But now the law says that it's normal...

It is hard to think about anything without a larger perspective anymore. Last night I was talking to someone who said it is unfair that she is in jail while thousands of illegals are free even after they committed crimes! That's true too! How do we separate one thing from the many issues we face tod...
