I didn't love until late in life. Lust I knew since I was an acned teen. I had a lot of growing up to do before feeling comfortable to express love. Understanding what love is helps to define love.

I've never believed in love that is romanticized. Now, the act - or for the lucky ones, the art - of romancing a loved one is far different and healthier than romanticizing love for love's sake. This kind of love is superficial and invites disaster.

Honest love is based on harsh, life is unfair, love is war, reality. Friendship first is fertile ground for sowing honest love... from which the mind, heart and soul of one grows inchly and intertwinely with another. Honest love often flourishes into the truest form of love. So lucky are these people.

Platonic love is a gift. It forces us to examine, question and appreciate ourselves to want to unabashedly connect with a person who touches our lives for one reason or another.

Love can be a blissful thing or a painful experience. We need to remember that love is a constant. A means of intense communication. I feel whoever gives up on love loses sense of being

Wow this is heavy Mark! I've read it a few times... So much truth so simply put packs a powerful punch. It's at the end of my day and I'm unable to put into words a bunch of things I'm thinking about. But I can say even now, thanks for the very thoughtful and thought provoking post.

Your experiences have made you into a person we are glad we know, Mark. Thank you for this. You are an experienced romantic idealist, and that is uplifting.
