After hearing Obama's speach on veteren's Day I had to finish this blog, lest we forget.
Killing private Ryan
If you have not seen the movie “Saving Private Ryan” You probably remember the beginning, the morning of D-Day, at the beaches at Normandy. Those men, boys in many cases, running into what appears certain death, knowing that at any moment they could be one of the men bobbing in the blood stained surf, or one of the men dying, dismembered or dead on the hellish beach. I cannot imagine being able to do what these men did, for any reason. But these men did it, and around the world, other men and women did it. On other beaches, in jungles and in deserts they risked everything. They sailed into harm’s way in ships that could instantly entrap them with a fiery death and their watery tomb. They boarded planes knowing only a few of them were ever expected to return. These men and woman did this to free people in countries that they knew almost nothing about. Nothing except that the people for which they fought and died, were not free. So being the kind of Americans that Obama will never understand, they could not sit around while tyrants attacked and persecuted the people over which they ruled. So they signed up to right that wrong.
As hard as it is to imaging running up that beach on D-Day, I have to wonder how these same veterans must have felt when their Honor Flight group was turned away from THEIR memorial, by their government. How betrayed must they have felt when that realized that they were deliberately targeted by their own president. A president who saw them as pawns, to be sacrificed in order to score political points. Did they wonder what happened to the nation dedicated to freedom and justice? Did they recognize the tactics of their old Nazi enemies, right in the capitol of their own country? It is hard to tell how they felt or what they thought. What they did was not hard to predict, they moved Barack’s Barrycades and did what they came to do. As the pip squeak president kept making it harder on the veterans they rose to the challenge. This went on, until in one of the best untold story of our time the veterans returned Barak's barricades to him as he probably cowered and fumed in the White House.
But the story does not have a happy ending because the politicians were all given their scripts and the performed the republican verses democrat dance in their clumsy but predictable manner. The federal government not only got control of everyone’s healthcare but no debt ceiling at all. Now every American, man, woman and child must put our healthcare, our future and our life and death decisions in to the loving hands of the Obama administration. Soon, as the inevitable socialized single payer system becomes locked into the American way of life. The president will get the last laugh. The veterans Tri-Care plan will phase out. With an implementation of a quality of life standard for medical procedures, Obama will win in the end. Obama care will do what mortar fire, bullets, bombs, and torpedoes and all the perils of a normal life could not do, and that is to kill Private Ryan.
