If the American people aren't waking up and furious by right about now then I don't know what it will take. I couldn't believe it when I read that they've closed the ocean in South Florida. How the hell have we allowed it to come to this that we have given the ocean to the United States Government?
The National Park Service informed charter boat captains in Florida that the Florida Bay was "closed" due to the shutdown. Until government funding is restored, the fishing boats are prohibited from taking anglers into 1,100 square-miles of open ocean. Fishing is also prohibited at Biscayne National Park during the shutdown. The Park Service will also have rangers on duty to police the ban. Of access to an ocean. The government will probably use more personnel and spend more resources to attempt to close the ocean, than it would in its normal course of business.
Stop Acting Like Wimpy Little Sheep America! No reaction is giving in. If we are going to let them keep us out of our land and out of the ocean then we deserve what ever they do to us next. A country full of people who just take it, is not what I thought America and being American was all about.
