A CHURCH IN RUINS

I did not leave the Protestant Episcopal Church of the United States of America. It left me.
I still subscribe to the tenet that abortion is murder, in all but very few instances, and that homosexual acts are abominations in the eyes of G-d. And also that marriage is a sacred union between one man and one woman (at a time), upon which rests the very founding of the Anglican Communion, courtesy of Henry VIII, who had more wives than Gibbs, or I, for that matter. The Protestant Episcopal Church of the United States of America is the American spawn of the Anglican Communion.
I have spoken my opening line to numerous people, among them Episcopal clergy and lay assistants, who devote many hours of their time visiting those who need such visits, particularly hospital patients, as I have been on more than one occasion. Invariably, I have received knowing sympathy from my visitors, and I’ve never incited an argument, which leads me to believe that I’m right, and that my church has been hijacked by godless Leftists, who, despite their endless cacophony of bullsh*t, are still in the minority. Yet we, the majority of believers, have allowed these Philistines to hijack our church. Why?
Why, indeed! Perhaps it’s the overwhelming tsunami of secular propaganda we’re fed by our media on a daily basis. Perhaps it’s infiltration of the church hierarchy by Leftists bent on the destruction of our Judeo-Christian society. Perhaps it’s the influence of the One-Worlders of the New World Order on all of our institutions. Perhaps, just maybe, it’s largely the result of our own laziness in the exercise of our faith, and of our failure to counter the tireless efforts of the PC NAZIs as they’ve gone about systematically dismantling our belief system.
Whatever the cause or causes, we have clearly moved away from moral absolutes in our daily lives. Everything is relative. What used to be hard and fast rules to live by are now mere suggestions. Black and white are gone, and we’re left only with varying shades of depressing gray.
The time for an awakening and an aggressive counter-movement has long since passed.
