I wonder how many times in my life I have said that!?

Everyday lately and especially after Hurricane Matthew, I find myself saying that multiple times a day!

Hurricane Updates - The insurance guy finally came out and I will keep my thoughts about him to myself. They aren't very positive. As I was showing him around the house it was discovered that the roof may need a complete replacement! As I entered one room downstairs I rarely go into I found water pouring out of the celiing into the floor and all over one box of my kids pictures from when they were babies and photos of a trip to Europe. The exact cause of this is not yet known and today more flooding came through down there! I think he is counting it as damage. I hope so - so now I have another ceiling to repair and replace and more water damage to the floors and other items where it is leaking out of ON AN ONGOING BASIS!

About the pictures, these are irreplaceable and I went through many pains to box up photos and evacuate with them, to bring them home and days later now have them ruined. When I finish blogging this I will be back opening packets and scattering them around my office which right now looks like a hurricane went through it because I had to replace over 5000 flat posters back to the closet and decided to go ahead and clean that closet out looking for things to get rid of and sell. Items are already stacked all over the place. Now the mess grows with photos. I just hope I can save them!

In the living room the furniture is still shoved to a side and or covered with black tarps in the event it rains again and leaks in there. Right now the skies are covered in dark rain clouds and it looks like a nor'easter is moving in.

On other fronts:

- I hurt my back pretty badly moving the posters and other things out of the closet and had to go back to bed because of it today.

- I am so stressed I am sick to my stomach to the point of nausea

- My cat developed what I hope is only conjunctivitis . Three days later after I discovered it, my daughter came over with cream for her eye she got from the pet clinic she works at. If it isn't looking some better in a couple of days I will have to take her to the vet. I read up on this and it seems the most common cause is stress and she was definitely stressed with the hurricane evacuation and related events. So, I hope this is a proper diagnosis because if I am wrong I might be costing her, her vision in that eye by misjudging. I pray I am right.

- I had 27 calls from bill collectors today alone.

- I have no idea when I can get this house on the market or if I will lose it to foreclosure. It has been decades since my life was this upside down and uncertain.

- My main computer keeps acting up and if  I lose that I will lose any hope of carrying on what I have been doing for the past years.

- Every room in my house except the guest room looks like a disaster for having either moved furniture from the living room in it, from the reorganizing to avoid flooding before the hurricane or from now the new disaster of the water leak downstairs.

- I won't even go on and on and on and on but I could ... and my misery wants no company but I do pray many times a day Dear God please make it stop!

- On the other hand I am blessed with a family that I love so much. Today is my daughter's birthday and I gave her my favorite necklace. I wanted to give something I loved the most to someone I love the most. Smile  I thank God for every blessing in my life and especially for life itself.

I WON'T LET THIS COLLECTION OF CALAMITIES TAKE ME DOWN!

They say you have to laugh to keep from crying.

Anyone heard a good joke lately?

OH Here is something kind of funny. In one spot of the crud line that came up in my yard there was this ball collection. There were more but these were all in one spot! Everyone who looked at the property at one point ended up staring at these balls and asking the age old question .. WHAT THE ??????

I feel bad about clicking on "like" but I DO consider it an acknowledgment of having read a post. It just seemed so wrong!

You are in a situation where I wouldn't know where to start or what to do first. It sounds overwhelming but you have GOT to get through it and your friends are praying for you....

Funny that you mentioned this. My sister and I were having a talk this evening. She said that nobody knows what it's like to lose a house to a flood (or hurricane) unless they went through the same trauma. My sister had a large ice chest size box full of family photos. Only 20 survived.

You want a l...

Compared to your sister, I am blessed greatly! I know a lot of people who lost everything here from the storm too. Truly, my grumbling is just to let it out and keep a few people interested in what is going on informed. All I have to do is think of people like your sister to feel greatful.
