My brother on Gun Sales:
"I was over at Sportsman's Warehouse today, and the word is Chaos... Sheer Chaos! It was good chaos though, guns of all calibers flying off the shelves, people standing in line to fill out the paperwork and checkout with their new shooting iron! When I spoke with my friend, a salesman at Sportsman's, and he said their best salesman is Barack Hussein Obama!
The people buying guns were not your run-of-the-mill survivalist, preppers, or enthusiasts, they were women with their husbands in tow, buying a gun for the wife! The buying experience was taking one hour plus due to volume, selection of the firearm, paperwork, background check and checkout, but "Annie is getting her gun"!
While I was waiting to be helped, a voice behind me said, "Sweetie what is the best ammo for a .380 ACP?" I turned around and it was an older woman well dressed, an oddity in Sportsman's. She told me her husband used to take care of all this, but he up and died on her, now she needs to get smart on this stuff! I took her to the ammo and asked "What are you going to be doing with the ammo, target, or defense?" She said both. She had joined a seniors shooting club, and would be practicing but she also wanted some ammo with some knockdown power!
I got her a 50 round box of Federal 90gr FMJ for practice, and two 25 round boxes of Hornady 90gr XTP, she asked what doe the XTP stand for, I said, it stands for Extreme Terminal Performance. Her eyes lit up and she said, "I like the sound of that!" She thanked me and off she went with her stock of ammo for her Walther PPK, I was glad to help!
By the way, I did pick up a Glock 26, it kept calling my name, and I could not help wanting to pick it up and hold it!
