June 3 2015 Today SodaHead closed shop to its member users. Lets get in touch with SodaHead friends with a reminder that they have a welcoming home here if they would like to join us. To join TeamNetworks.net simply use the sign up form here - http://teamnetworks.net

If enough ex- sodahead members come and are interested in the polling aspect of our site, I will look into boosting that section to make it more similar to the old soda head format.

Message from Soda Head to Members:

We are announcing today that, effective immediately, SodaHead.com will no longer support user login, poll creation, commenting and messaging. We will, however, continue to support users’ ability to vote on editor-created polls.

We did not arrive at this decision lightly. We launched SodaHead in 2006 on the premise of connecting people through their opinions and passions. Over the past 9 years, we believe we’ve accomplished just that.

But, along the way, something else happened: we discovered tremendous interest from other content creators and publishers who wanted to use the same polling technology that powers SodaHead.com for their sites.

Since then, many of those content sites, ones like ABC News, ESPN, FoxNews, Los Angeles Times, and Warner Bros., have in fact started using our polling technology. Those sites recognize the positive impact that polling has on their readers’ engagement.

Given a limited number of resources, both financial, human and otherwise, we had to evaluate how effectively we could serve SodaHead.com as a community polling site while simultaneously addressing the needs of online publishers, where our polling solution is met with an incredibly strong market-fit.

We ultimately resolved that we cannot do both to ensure our long-term viability, SodaHead needs to focus on furthering its position as a market-leader in distributed polling solutions for online content creators. Our decision adheres to the maxim of: do what you do best and link to the rest.

We recognize that our comparative advantage lies in building awesome polling solutions for publishers. With that comes the difficult yet necessary decision to remove user log-in access to SodaHead.com. Again, this is made effectively immediately.

Please connect with us on our Facebook page to keep in touch with your friends and continue to express your opinions on topical issues. We greatly your lively participation in our community of thoughtful, concerned citizens from around the world.

All the best,
Team SodaHead

Thanks to Kathryn for posting this message from Soda Head.

Hi, Do you clear your cookies a lot? Unless you log out with the link up top right of any page, it will keep you logged in. It doesn't boot anyone out that I am aware of. Thanks Linda, there are ways to get rid of those flash cookies. Most people just use the built in browsers clear history method and it won't touch them. So if a site uses flash to keep one logged in, they will stay logged in after clearing cookies that way. Since we use regular harmless non tracking...

I noticed that SodaHead was never one of my top referrers, this although I would submit all my content to SH, without fail. Now, however, I can ditch that promotion step--and I've noticed I'm getting a lot more attention to my own site, since I have added considerably to my Facebook friendships.

Cross post between twitter and fb and you will see a good jump. SH had so many socks, paid/pro bloggers, and other things going on that it probably wasn't a very good portal.
