Okay - I'll just say it, I've seen several of this guy's videos and I don't know if I think he is a fear mongerer or just an excessive alarmist. lol Look at this report from Nov Same kind of headline - http://consumerist.com/20... I believe people are speculating due to the Sony deal and he needs to prop up that other video he put up about America getting slammed so this works for that too. Personally, I think since comcast started the Xfinity service, where phone, cable and TV are all routed together, they weren't really ready for it. Weather can affect it as can heavy loads and Christmas time might offer both. This isn't the first and likely won't be the last time Comcast is in the headlines for massive outages. Another thing - this kinda sucks because I can't remember how to refer to this and I'm too lazy to go look in the official TN group where it was written about a couple of months ago -- lol.. but there was a major issue that occurred world wide ahead of schedule that caught everyone off guard. ALL of the equipment had been set up to handle a certain limit of different -- I'll refer to it as addresses - coming in to their lines. But - that number was exceeded for the first time and web sites were down all over the place. ATT, Comcast all of the big guys and big server buisinesses like where this site is hosted went down. We were lucky that our server host was on top of it and the site was only down for a few hours but they recently still were doing updates on that to install more permanent solutions. The article posted in the TN group says that the issue could take months to fix world wide and we haven't passed that time yet either. If you are really interested the TN group is listed as featured on the right side of the groups area, and there isn't much posted in the blogs so it should be easy to find.
Daboo may be a bit alarmist, but he brings things to the table no one else is willing to. As for self, other than the usual WIFI connectivity problems, no big deal today.
I didn't have any either today. (Yesterday) lol -- yeah well he sure does cover things no one else is. But maybe there is a reason for that. lol Just kidding - I'm such a hard one to win over with any kind of computer, techy alarms. But maybe there is a reason for that. lol Just kidding - I'm such a hard one to win over with any kind of computer, techy alarms. I'm not saying this is what he is doing because I don't know his heart but it is very easy to bring people along for the ride in these subjects because the knowledge of the tech involved is not part of everyone's tools. I think of it like a car - I know how to drive one and make the radio play but don't ask me how it works other than the basic theories. lol
Here is the link to the article about the global table being exceeded - causing down issues world wide http://www.zdnet.com/arti... And I'm not sure comcast was getting slammed as much as it ws just experiencing difficulties which is not super unusual for Comcast.
