Today I received a mail from a visitor that didn't join. I think the information replied might be of interest to our existing members. Slightly edited and with personal references removed:

Your mail has been passed on to me, the owner of TeamNetworks.net. Thank you very much for taking the time to let us know your thoughts about visiting our site.

As you can imagine a site like this with thousands of text entries to check, may “occasionally” produce errors not yet found.  We changed the spelling typo you mentioned. We are in the process of following up on some of your suggestions.

We are currently operating in what I call a Soft Beta opening. We think what our site offers is great considering it is privately owned and primarily developed and operated by a two woman team. But what our site will soon have to offer that is currently in development and testing, will make it fantastic. We already had a group steal some of our code and duplicate a lot of our efforts so these things will not be rolled out until we are ready for a steady succession of features that would be hard for competition to duplicate without a lot of time and expense. During this Soft Beta opening, there may still be typos or even bugs to be found and we appreciate it when our members, and even non members, bring them to our attention!

We are a semi-public site. Certain features are for members only. For example you can not view member's profiles and the information they choose to share only with other members or members of their choosing. The reason some areas such as music are not available to be viewed by non members in most cases is due to privacy issues and copyright protections. For example, music being made available to members only is a decision made after conversing with musicians who are concerned about the numerous methods of stealing copyrighted material by hackers or non human powered internet robots when mp3s and other audio files are left in vulnerable public folders. Music is a place for musicians or speakers to upload the music or audio files that they own.

The other tabbed areas not accessible includes Friends, which shows a members friend list and is not applicable to visitors. “Members” is also hidden because many of our members come from other networks where they would just as soon not have their membership easily scrutinized. Leaving this list open exposes people who have used their real names to robots and human data collectors or stalkers and offers nothing positive to the experience for the member.

One of the inspirations to create this site is the well-founded concerns about privacy on line. Anything we do is based on over a decade of website ownership and the understanding of how information is scraped and how members are at risk for exposing sensitive information they might otherwise not wish to have exposed. We do not collect any personal information on our members other than what is stored in the system to process a user's experience with the site and we do not track our members off our site with measures such as Facebook has taken.

I hope this answers your questions and we would welcome you to be a member to come find out why it is so great to be one on our site. In this opening phase, I would say that the best reason to join is that we have fantastic members, many of which are my close personal friends, who are good positive people, concerned about our country and dedicated to helping preserve the American Dream. Any network is only as good as its members. Ours are tops Smile And we are always ready for more. If you decide to join, we would do everything possible to make you feel welcome and accommodate your uses of our site

This is a great site. It is the only site that I allow my daughter to be on because I don't believe in allowing children to be exposed on sites like facebook. I appreciate that she can have an opportunity to learn what a network is and how it operates. I hope when she gets older that she will contin...
