“LAWMAKER” ~ AN OBNOXIOUS TERM

Among the less-than-important things that have started to bother me as I approach the age of Joe Biden is the fact that the media and far too many real people commonly use a term which I’ve always found at least slightly offensive, in place of the term they should be using.  The term of which I speak is “Lawmaker.”

Just WHO in the hell came up with this moniker as a substitute for “representative?”  Members of Congress, as well as others elected by We the People to various state and local legislative bodies are REPRESENTATIVES of We the People, and I’ve rather begun to resent the term “Lawmaker.”  One would think that their only job is to make laws, rather than to represent our interests.  At least, that’s the impression that they themselves convey.  Perhaps Quid pro Joe Bidenski recently said it best when, in a fit of pique, he told a factory worker, “I don’t work for YOU!”

If the people in these positions really think it is their job to make laws (from many of which they exempt themselves), perhaps it’s time for We the People to eliminate them . . . and merely voting them out of office really doesn’t seem to work all that well.
