My Brother on Ethanol:
It would seem the only Senator interested in solving the ethanol issue is Ted Cruz, that means there are 99 more who could care less, and 435 House members who can't find their a$$es with both hands! The ethanol scam created by Sen Chuck Grassley (Rep-IA) and seconded by his cohort in crime Joni Ernst (Rep IA), to enrich corn farmers and secure reelections. This scam is like most in United States politics, it concerns itself to a handful at the peril of many. Everyone in congress knows the RFS is BS and should be gotten rid of, but the RFS is a 'Golden Calf' for the Midwest politicians, and now nearly all agricultural states have moved to corn to rake in profits. These same farmers know that corn strips the soil and neutralizes it, thus causing the need for more fertilizers, more water than their normal crops. Ethanol and RFS is bad policy and will destroy our farming industry.
The only question that needs to be asked is, if the United States has so much oil that it is now the world's largest exporter, why are we still buying oil from the middle east, and why are we using ethanol to supplement it? The second question you should ask is, if ethanol cuts the costs of gasoline, why is gas still near $3.00 per gallon for E10, and why is your New York Steak $12.99 a pound?
