Being amazed at the idea that there had been some Islamic "Golden Age" that had remained hidden in the nearly 40 undergraduate hours I'd invested in world history, I had to check that out:

So, the Muslims claim to have laid the foundation of the scientific method! in a book by an Arab, on the topic of optics: Here's what Wikipedia says in the article on Optics: "Optics began with the development of lenses by the ancient Egyptians and Mesopotamians, followed by theories on light and vision developed by ancient Greek philosophers, and the development of geometrical optics in the Greco-Roman world."
The is Arabic appropriation of Western seminal thinking that had appeeared more than 1,000 years earlier! This is a perfect example of how the pernicious political system called Islam is already rewriting history.
