Deep fracking is not so much a problem as shallow. As long as the casing is in good condition, nothing will escape into the surrounding water table.

This is so not true. Ordinarily I wouldn't know about fracking/water but my friend has a farm in northeast PA and no one in the area can drink their water. NO ONE.
