First let me start with an excerpt from one of the articles linked below: "Are you disappointed in every shower head that you purchase? Does your toilet have trouble flushing? Have you noticed that your dishes are still dirty after the dishwasher cycle is completed?

If you answered yes to any of those questions, you’re not alone. Some of us may be quick to blame the manufacturer of these home appliances. But the manufacturers are just abiding by the costly regulations by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the Department of Energy."

In my case yes and yes to two of those questions. Sometimes I am in the shower so long trying to rinse the conditioner out of my hair that I get shriveled. I have soft water anyway but I used to be able to overcome that with water pressure to more quickly remove the product. And many of my dishes also get left in for a second round of washing which means I am doing more dish washing than before the EPA decided it knew how to reduce water usage as a result of their faulty thinking and the fake science we have come to expect from them!

But the appliance tampering that irks me the most is the water level sets that have been changed in washers. Laundry is not one of my favorite chores so for them to impose restrictions that cause me to do it more often is a pain in the back, literally!

I had my laundry down to a science. I have presort bags hanging in the closet and when one color or another reached the top that was a load. Easy right? Put the washer on large load and be done with it. But  the level meter developed an issue so I had to get a repair. After installing the new part, the repairman called me in while he was running the test fill but  when the water cut off a good  two inches below where it used to stop in the tub I believed it had not been fixed. I was adamant about it to the point he called his office. They weren't sure about the cause so he came back the next day and he replaced it again and with the same results! I insisted that he investigate because the odds of him installing two faulty new parts didn't seem that probable. An hour later he got off the phone for the second time to tell me this had to do with new EPA restrictions that will not allow a tub to fill to a higher level because it can cause small amounts of water to be forced out if the load of clothes is too high.

WHAT? OK so, maybe a quarter cup of water was lost in splash over but now I am doing laundry much more frequently which is taking a whole lot more water than would have been lost in the first place, if any. I'm wondering if I can sue the EPA for the back pain I get every time I do a load?

And about those low flush toilets, I think Hank Hill was onto something when in season 4 episode 22 Flush With Power he decided to run to be a City Commissioner in order to get to the bottom of the city laws requiring low flush toilets problem. After winning, with Hank's usual persistence, he made his point after filibustering and causing other Commissioners to have to go to the bathroom where their double flushes became apparent to all. In Hank's case it turned out that one of the Commissioner's relatives had a stake in the low flush toilet business. (Sound familiar?) Maybe we can learn from Hank, maybe it is time for us to run for offices and apply for jobs that will throw a cog in this wheel on the left side of the cart.

lol this is a good blog. I never knew that about washers but it explains a lot. Since I bought my new one I am also doing more loads even though the tub holds the same capacity and I didn't realize a difference in water lavels because it is new and there is nothing to compare it with. Now I know!  I...

What has the government done that ever made sense and worked better? Now they have health care and I am dreading it. The passing of the hc bill is what really woke me up and now I really hate Democrats. All of them!!!!
