My entire Thanksgiving felt like a day of continual prayer. But after all of the cooking was finally done, and my family lined up to fill their plates, I recieved a call from a relative that I miss dearly and due to events on their end it was the only chance I would have to spend talking to him on this day when he was sorely missed. I hoped my family now famished would understand and I missed the blessing of our food at the table. Every one understood and it wasn't a problem. But for the rest of the night that one special token act of family togetherness in grace with God was an activity that I wished I had not missed, even though I believed it was all in God's perfect timing that the call came at that very moment that we were gathered, minus one .

With the hustle, bustle, and conversations of the day having finally wound down, I think I owe it to my spirit to spend a few final moments in prayer, with my family securely in my heart, and even on line where someone might find it and pray along with me for my or their own family.

And here following is my prayer:

Dear God,

Love is the most miraculous gift that you have given us. I am so very thankful for the greatness of the gifts of love that I have in my life. I rejoice that I am in your presence and sustained by your grace on this most beautiful planet in the middle of this most beautiful universe. What a feeling of joy I have tonight when I think of the blessings I have without my having to earn them other than by living the life you have given me. Knowing that my family and friends are in my life to teach, support, test, and comfort me, and according to the plan for my soul to grow that is laid out before and behind me, I smile up at you. With the power that is you, from you and in me I go forward always hoping to do my best for the best of every one that I share this wonderful journey with and for those who come after me.

Thank you God for my life and every one you have given me to share it with!

Amen.

How nice! I hope you had a great Thanksgiving. My family was scattered this year but we still had a nice relaxing day at a friend's house. Plus I didn't have to cook! hehe!
