Before reading the featured article take a minute to review this package insert, which can be found on the FDA's official website, for “Diphtheria and Tetanus DTaP Toxoids and Acellular Pertussis Vaccine Adsorbed” which has the brand name Tripedia®. It reads, “Tripedia vaccine has not been evaluated for its carcinogenic or mutagenic potentials or impairment of fertility.”
“Adverse events reported during post-approval use of Tripedia vaccine include idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura, SIDS, anaphylactic reaction, cellulitis, autism, convulsion/grand mal convulsion, encephalopathy, hypotonia, neuropathy, somnolence and apnea. Events were included in this list because of the seriousness or frequency of reporting.“ [emphasis added]
