to All

Dear Students,

Under the Affordable Care Act most young adults will be required to have health insurance coverage by January 1, 2014.  If you have not purchased the University’s Student Health Insurance or are not covered by your parents’ health insurance plan or coverage from another source, you will need to take action during the next few months.

The attached flyer from the University System of Maryland gives you information on how to begin finding insurance coverage on the Maryland Exchange if you’re a Maryland resident or on your home state exchange.  In addition to exploring the plans available on the Exchange, you may want to consider the Towson University Student Health Insurance Plan. The plan works in conjunction with the Dowell Health Center to provide services with a low deductible at a reasonable cost, and gives students access to Aetna’s national network of specialty providers. Details of the plan and an online enrollment application can be found on the Health Center website: http://www.towson.edu/dow...

Sincerely,

Deb Moriarty, Ph.D.

I bet most of them will be in shock over what this is really all about regardless of the fact that we tried to tell them what it was.
