I think the tables may be turning here. Real conservatives will give credit for good governance, which includes repealing badly written or badly conceived law.
Although I don't want to see this point, I do - that the reason obamacare hasn't been repealed is because obama has sworn to veto it. So - how do we ever get around THAT!
Thank you all who voted! Interestingly, despite the hundreds of thousands of provisions enacted since the founding of this nation, legislators have only repealed 20% of existing law.
There's a new book out, called 'Legislating in the Dark,' the main argument of which is that your average legislator does not currently read nor comprehend the laws they cast their vote for.
Of those provisions which still stand, over 87% have been passed since 1959.
This means that the vast majority of the law you currently live under was enacted during your lifetime!
