What is interesting to me is when I was more of a math whiz - I would sometimes round numbers to something easier to work out in my head and do the - add or subtract thing afterwards to get the exact number. I do the same thing. I've been doing it since I first learned math. But I wasn't taught it. If it was explained like you just did it might make sense to many but I can see how it would totally frustrate others.
