You draw everything you want to leave white on the egg with beeswax. When you put it in a dye, it will dye the rest of the egg, and when you remove the wax, the white shows.

An instrument called a Kistka. It's a wood dowel with a brass cone on one end secured with copper wire. You heat the cone over a candle and then either scoop up some wax into the cone or let the wire absorb some wax and you're ready to draw. I use a finer tipped cone for fine work and one with a ...
