lol I'd rather eat beans than a rabbit!  Although I may have tasted rabbit when I was a kid. I had one uncle who went hunting frequently and it was better not to question what the meat was if I was over there during  meal...

I had rabbit stew one time from someone who said that. The stew looked really good - potatoes, carrots, yummy looking gravy...the rabbit did NOT taste like chicken. I never ate it again.

One of my jobs growing up was to make sure that our freezer stayed stocked with rabbit, squirrel, pheasant, quail, duck, and fish. Nothing wrong with rabbit if it's fixed right. Especially raised rabbits.

These were raised rabbit. Guess they didn't know how to fix it. Never had squirrel, and not sure I'd want to - but I'd be willing to try the pheasant. Quail is excellent, but didn't really care for duck. I could live off fish.

Sounds like a great job for a guy!

With wild rabbit it's best to pressure cook them for a half hour. Then fry them up like chicken.
Yeah, me too about the fish.

Yes, I know. And I know I am delving into a touchy area here. I suppose it's because I'm frequently looking at news about how desperate it is in other countries. From what I have read there are no stray cats and dogs in China or NK, probably a lot of African countries also.. Shoot, they don't even h...

ohhhhhhhh you bad - that was mean! lol ... cat! In HI my daughter and I stood outside a Chinese deli for over half an hour looking at an animal strung up in the window believing it was a cat the whole time. I still do not know what it was and pray it wasn't really a cat.

Hey, I know a guy here that used to sell rabbit to a local butcher. The butcher made him leave one foot on so he knew it wasn't cat.

My dad was a hunter. He'd bring home rabbit, pheasant, quail, etc., and I loved it all...until the day he went hunting--it was a glorious fall morning--and when the dogs scared up a brace of pheasant, the early morning sun hit the colors of their feathers and it looked like jewels. He lowered the ...

Good advice and good skills to know.
I seldom hunt anymore and I was never a trophy hunter. The biggest reason I seldom hunt now is because I have so much fish and meat given to me every year. Just last nite a friend gave me a big package of elk sausage.
To me the best part of hunting is not the stal...
