Was it through the Christian Children's Fund or something like that? My mother sponsored two children all the way until they were grown through a Christian fund. I remember her reading their stories to me and telling me how we should count our blessings.

It wasn't a Christian organization but similar to that where you sponsor a child. I picked Burkina Fasco because it was the one place on the map I didn't know anything about and told them either sex of a child. I guess girls get sponsored more than boys from what I've read so I got this little guy. ...
