PRESIDENTIAL INELIGIBILITY, REVISITED
R. A. Schultz
There are currently FOUR potential candidates for the Presidency of the United States who are Constitutionally ineligible to hold that office by reason of NOT being Natural-born Citizens:
Castro, Julian (D-TX)
Cruz, Ted (R-TX)
Harris, Kamala (D-CA)
Rubio, Marco (R-FL)
The fact that this Constitutional provision was not upheld in 2008, compounded in 2012, goes to the eternal shame of those responsible for allowing an ineligible individual to accede to and to hold the Presidency, and calls into serious question whether any acts performed by that individual while holding that office were legitimate or lawful. As yet, there is still no established and codified procedure for the vetting of a candidate’s eligibility to become POTUS. In the most recent instance of an ineligible person acceding to that office, the Speaker of the House merely stated that he met the constitutional requirements. He did not.
