Well Elon Musk is letting people go due to performance issues! So why doesn't the United States Government do the same with Elon and Tesla? Tesla has orders for 450K Model 3 sedans, but they managed to manufacture only 260 for the entire year. Yet we subsidize Elon and his electric self-driving cars...
Why? Why do we need smart self-driving cars anyway? I saw a commercial that explained it completely, without saying a thing. Here is the situation, the goof is driving his/her smart car not paying attention to his/her primary task = driving! Along comes another unconscious wiper jogging with a headset on listening to Tony Robbins, Oprah, Soulja Boy or Lil Wayne... You can choose! The goof in the smart car is not paying attention, and the goof jogging is not paying attention, but the smart car is and as the jogger runs in front of the irresponsible driver, the smart car stops the car sparing the dumbass who ran in front of it and the drooling fool in the car playing with a phone! Great stuff, all is good, saved the day...
BS! The cars are being developed because we are too incompetent to drive, jog, and function on our own. I won't even bring up Agenda 21, and removal of personal uncontrolled travel, and restricting people's basic rights. Let the market decide what kind of cars we want, and stop making me pay for cars that only fools need. The only thing "green" about electric cars is not the power source, it's the tax subsidies offered to buy one! But wait, no one said you have to install a charging station to make your new green car go, and they cost twice as much as a regular naughty car!
