IMPEACHMENT FOR ALL THE WRONG REASONS

The Constitutionally-mandated four-year term of office for a President of the United States, limited to two terms or ten years by the 22nd Amendment, renders impeachment of a sitting president an exercise in futility, as well as a colossal waste of time, energy, and money, except for the most egregious of criminal acts committed by that sitting president. The fact that the opposition party cannot win an election, and can field only a crazy-quilt assortment of incompetents, prevaricators, plagiarists, pedophiles, perverts, weirdos, neo-Bolsheviks and ne’er-do-wells is not an excuse for impeachment of a president. Nor is fundamental disagreement with his foreign policy or how he conducts it.
