THE “BIG BLUE WAVE,” ANALYZED

Well, so much for the Big Blue Wave! It turned out to be nothing more than a standard tidal change. It’s now low tide. It will be high tide again as a result of the next election cycle.
In the meantime, let us not despair. The progturds have succeeded in gaining control of one half of one of the three branches of the United States government. They can run in circles, scream and shout, all they want but will succeed only in making complete fools of themselves, guaranteeing a 2020 Trump landslide, with long coattails! POTUS, OUR POTUS, has veto power over their every act, except impeachment, their prospects of effecting an override being between zip and nada. Their prospects of obtaining a conviction on a bill of impeachment, requiring 67 votes in the Senate, are between nil and zero so, unless they have an acute attack of the stupids, they won’t even try.
On the other hand, if, in the unlikely event they suddenly experience an epiphany of reality, and decide that they can accomplish more for America by working with POTUS to get needed things done, they just might fare somewhat better in the 2020 elections, and restore their party to its pre-1963 relative sanity.
In the meantime, I’ve ordered up another shipment of popcorn!
