SECURITY CLEARANCE: A FIRST AMENDMENT RIGHT?

R. A. Schultz

Jihadi John Brennan’s security clearance has been yanked by President Trump.  For those useful idiots who whine that this is clearly an attempt by the president to stifle freedom of speech by “punishing” an obnoxious, incompetent, lying, seditious political hack, please note:  Freedom of speech is guaranteed against governmental intrusion by the First Amendment to the Constitution of the United States.  Becoming a clear and present danger to the security of the United States is not a constitutionally-protected activity.

Nowhere in the history of the world is it known to be a God-given right to have and maintain a security clearance, and therefore, security clearances aren’t even mentioned in the Constitution or in any amendments thereto.  A security clearance is granted to those who need to know certain information in order to perform functions necessary to the operations of the United States, and then only after an exhaustive background investigation which is renewed every five years while the individual still needs that clearance.  Brennan had outlived his need for a security clearance and it should have been revoked much sooner.

Brennan, whose perpetually scowling countenance has endeared him to so many, had clearly monetized his self-important purported access to classified information via his employment with Fake News outlet CNN, and had made repeated seditious and defamatory remarks.  He is likely the un-named source for much of the bullsh*t published by the Make-Believe Media. His “need to know” the inner workings of the American intelligence community had most certainly expired long before his clearance was terminated.

I sincerely hope there will be further security clearance terminations among the rest of the “resistance” crowd.
