POINT OF VIEW - wow -

Soooo because a dinghy was purchased the boat got turned around and now the prevailing view from the aft deck is the rest of the marina, the waterway that goes by and an expanse for several miles over to a tall bridge with another marina in between. The boats next door aren't blocking the wind from coming through anymore and the breeze is so lovely! I've already seen so many birds flying and feeding on the water. There is a very good chance to see the manatees or dolphins now too.

The noise from the nearby road traffic is gone and it's so peaceful and relaxing to sit out there staring at other boats and beautiful nature instead of the dock, the community area still in part messed up from the last hurricane and sporting barricades around torn out pilings, as well as the busy street across the way.

What a difference just turning around has made to my entire state of mind!!!

I feel for the first time since I've been here, the niceness of living on the water. I can sneak out in my pjs in the morning and sit out there without having to worry about people walking by. This changes everything! I can even see myself setting up my laptop there and hanging out working on the deck. There's a sense of privacy that was sorely lacking before and all it took was tying up bow in instead of aft in!

And I can't help but think how frequently in life, sometimes we just need to turn around and look at things from the opposite direction.

I'm thankful for this move. I needed it more than I knew.

Can't off the boat in the marina - against the rules - but someday I will bust out the fishing pole and try my hand at it. (I hate fishing though - it upsets me to hurt and kill fish even if I throw them back. Poor bebes!)

Hmmmm.... I don't enjoy hurting or killing anything but if you were to taste some of the deep fried catfish I've been eating lately you might lose some of that aversion.

lol I hear ya - I love fresh fish! After owning reef tanks though - and realizing fish are not the dumb swimmers people think they are, but even have personalities, I have to "deal with it" anytime fishing or hunting come up as something I might do. Believe me I could if my life depended on it thoug...

Oh wow THANK YOU so much!!!!! I'll try - but sometimes the lessons don't come so quickly as this one did. lol. .. what I am about to post going on today - hopefully someday will provide a perspective worth sharing, rather than the groans I am making right now.

I will fish, hunt or what ever for food. Will NOT do it for "sport" AKA "fun".
I see no "fun" in harassing fish for my own amusement. :-/

Yep that's me too - but then I often catch too many things I can't eat - and have to torture it off the hook before I ever catch anything I can. This is why I mostly just go to the fresh fish market. lol
