Daffodils

I wander'd lonely as a cloud
That floats on high o'er vales and hills,
When all at once I saw a crowd,
A host, of golden daffodils;
Beside the lake, beneath the trees,
Fluttering and dancing in the breeze.
Continuous as the stars that shine
And twinkle on the Milky Way,
They stretch'd in never-ending line
Along the margin of a bay:
Ten thousand saw I at a glance,
Tossing their heads in sprightly dance.
The waves beside them danced; but they
Out-did the sparkling waves in glee:

A poet could not but be gay,
In such a jocund company:
I gazed -- and gazed -- but little thought
What wealth the show to me had brought:

For oft, when on my couch I lie
In vacant or in pensive mood,
They flash upon that inward eye
Which is the bliss of solitude;
And then my heart with pleasure fills,
And dances with the daffodils.

William Wordsworth (1770-1850)

awww this remindsme that my grandmother planted daffodils and butter cups along the long driveway to our house when I was a little kid -- so pretty - I still love them

The homosexual usurpation of gay was the ruination of a wonderful word. The fact that they DARE to try and appropriate the rainbow makes me grind my teeth.

That's why I reclaim it every chance I get - I refuse to accept their claim of it. I love rainbows and the biblical promise they represent and use them in my work when ever possible (probably should say used :/) .. I take it back on every opportunity

I really mean that I DO love this poem.
Dancing on the water and ALL! I LOVE it!

Oh, the Rainbow? Yes. That appropriation seems to have been done LONG ago with the rainbow bridge that reaches between Midgard (Earth) and Asgard, the realm of the gods. This is all part of the NEW World ORDER with it'...

Saw "hosts" of daffodils in 3 places the other sunny day, against a fence, entry into a house and in the park. SPRING!
