I have seen this awful movie and I am a father of a teen aged daughter. When I read this article my jaw dropped. I could barely sit through it myself and only did so out of politeness for the people that I was with. I was relieved to find out at the end that none of us liked it. It was worse than a typical bad movie in that it was hate driven, filthy minded, degrading, and in my opinion it was created to go along with the rest of the Hollywood agenda that is pushing Obama's desire to see blacks and whites further divided. Some say he wants another civil war. If Hollywood keeps this up he just might get it. It brings up things that Hollywood imagines we would like to believe happened in our past but in a sensational manner not from a true historical perspective. And if a crime is committed these very same people will be blaming the guns not the one holding it or the production groups for inspiring it just like they always do. Either they refuse to see the part they play in the ills of society or they know exactly what they are doing and that the same people who watch bug eyed in the theaters will watch bug eyed when they tell them it was the gun's fault.

I watched the faces of other black men in the audience and could read them through their eyes. With every gun shot I saw them light up. I knew that any perceived injustice they had ever experienced or heard about was being brought to their minds. As a parent I would definitely say that this movie should not be seen by ninth graders unless their parents are right there to give them commentary but it is a piece of junk that no one should tolerate much less be made to for an assignment. There were ugly episodes in the past between blacks and whites and slavery was and still is in many parts of the world a crime against humanity that speaks poorly of the souls of mankind. But from my perspective much of it was long ago healed for most of us until Obama came along with his class division and racial warfare. In the dark of night this movie will eat away at minds and crimes will be committed with a feeling of justification pointing its finger squarely at the psychological destruction and violent glorification that this movie bears.

Parents we talk about peace. We say we want peace for our children. We have to let go of the past and keep our eyes on the future because that is the place that our children and grandchildren will live. Exposing young minds to something like this movie serves no good purpose that I can possibly imagine. This I have to reveal in the hopes that it might save any one the cost of the ticket and children a cost to their development towards a better brighter future. To my fellow black fathers I say let the past go! None of us lived in the times of such prejudice and cruelty. Yes, it was bad and at times unbearable for those who suffered in slavery, but study the history to find it was not just the white man involved in the fate of many of our ancestors becoming slaves. Slavery still exists in many parts of the world today and if we want to make a difference we need to stop revising the past and work in the moment toward stopping it by exposing reality rather than wasting time watching a Hollywood version of trendy racial warfare.

I'll say it again. Leave the past behind, live in the moment, and act for the future. There is no better legacy that one can leave their family or the world than peace between the tribes.  If you want the world to be a better place for your kids don't drag them through the mud, lift them to the light.

I give this movie a 0 star rating. Please leave it alone to die a slow and painful death due to lack of interest.

Any teacher who thinks a child can learn something helpful to them in life by watching this movie needs to have their head examined.

Thanks Safari. I realize more every day that we have to keep a constant eye on what the public school system is doing to our children. I'm tired of this agenda to drive black and white apart. It hurts us all. I've seen our church lose a lot of its white members in the last four years when we used to...
