Yikes, We came out to the deck to find the anchor broke free and we had drifted within spitting distance of a Danger  Shoal Marker at the edge of the channel.

It was well after dark with the moon playing hide and go seek behind the clouds. At times pitch dark, and other times the black water lit up enough to play havoc by lighting up only portions of the water.

Luckily we missed hitting a mega yacht and a permanently anchored sail boat that were on either side of us. Who ends up at the wheel,  rather than pulling in the anchor,  ME!

The wind and tide were cranking and it took three tries at finding where we were, avoiding other vessels,  putting out the anchor, Drifting Again Until At Last It TOOK.

Where are you anyway? If you're exposed on Matanzas Bay or even on the Matanzas River, duck inside the San Sebastian River and anchor well into the shallows!

Miami. We were west of key biscayne. I think it was because we had a full moon at high tide with rushing current and brisk winds all pushing at the same time. Likely if we had more chain out it would have stayed put. This was our first time to anchor on it. We will eventually head your way where ...
